The Cove Little House began over 20 years ago with mothers in the congregation sharing childrens clothing. It has evolved into an extensive work supported by donations from local churches and the community. Clothing items for all ages, household goods, and emergency food are offered free of charge to anyone in need. It is visited by approximately 40 families each week and is open to the public every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Cove Church of Christ 306 W. Contact: 690-4400 or 699-8125. Hillside Ministries Swap Shop at 2602 S. FM 116 in Copperas Cove has a ‘Swap Shop’ once each month for everyone to ‘shop’ for free clothes for their families. The Swap Shop is a service to provide gently used clothing to people in the community FREE of charge. We have had Swap Shop in operation now since January, 2009, with an average of 235 customers each month. We have it available once each month, usually on the 3rd of 4th Thursday of the month. In these tough economic times when paychecks don’t go far enough and prices for everything still go up, we thought it would be a good idea to open a “Swap Shop” for people to ‘swap’ good clean, usable clothing that they have outgrown or don’t use anymore for items that they can use. We encourage donations and accept them on the days that Swap Shop is open, or any day, Monday through Thursday at the Church office from 9 AM to 12 Noon.
