The Creek Old Series cards The Creek Old Series cards were compiled in 1898 and predate the Dawes cards compiled 1899-1907. These cards often have information that is different than the final Dawes cards such as more specific blood percentages and different names. They also record persons who died just prior to the compiling of the final Dawes cards. These cards are arranged by district, card number, and then by family groups. Enrollment begun in 1896 but started over in 1898. The first census card is an example of the Creek Old Series card. Note: The Childers/Turner family is listed with a blood degree on the attached card. It also list other information of importance. Second card (front/back) is an example of a Dawes roll card for the Childers/Turner family. (The final Dawes roll determines membership into the Muscogee Creek Nation). Notice this card does not list the blood degree, hence this family was enrolled as Freedmen, instead of on the by blood roll. The blood degree was not transferred over from the Old Series card to the Dawes final card.
