The Crumbling World series People regaining control of their countries via Protest. The era where government is seen as untouchable is gone. People now assert their rights to hold the government accountable through series of protests which havr become a norm globally. The hiterto helpless masses no longer wait to change their govt. through election but through spontaneous protest which may be peacefully or violent depending on the prevailing circumstance and the mood of the people. The masses are no longer afraid of their lives as political leaders have made lives meaningless and valueless through endemic corruption, anti-people policies that result in irredemable poverty. The parity between the rich and poor are widening globally. The rich may not possess any special skills or investment but mere access to corridor of power guarantee stupendous wealth especially in Nigeria, African countries, Middle East etc. How do we justify the number of private jets in Nigeria in the midst of abject poverty. Several owners of private jets lack visible, verifiable and tangible investment to sustain such ostentatious lifestyle. Their claim to wealth is either through political patronage as looters of common wealth of the nation or milking the masses in the name of prosperity messages. The grand conspiracy against the masses by political and religious leaders to keep them in perpetual poverty result in subtle corroboration as religious leaders benefit from political leaders looting. It is absurd that the hallow pulpits meant for salvation messages have been turn into motivational centres, where corrupt politicians have a field day in churning messages of hope to the gullible masses. Capitalism, an America invention has take over the churches in Nigeria, few churches especially the orthodox churches from UK now preach salvation messages. The opium of the masses as rightly stated by Karl Max is fully in operation in Nigeria. The political-religious leaders have succeeded in blindfolding the masses that they cannot appreciate their precarious and grave socioeconomic plights. The writer make haste to state that there is nothing wrong with religious belief, but that wrong indoctrination has led to their masses suspending their brains from decipher problems confronting the nation. Messages of hope is not bad but hope is not abstract concept. Hope is predicated on substance and not mere allusion without concrete evidence on ground.
