The Cthulhu Sutra: Part Four (The Conclusion) So in summary, I think that Lovecraft was a pretty profound mystic. He just described the process of awakening to ones past lives, the reality of no self, and the reality of the true Self, in very vivid terms, albeit tinged with the horror of one who has had this experience without having cultivated the state of non-attachment essential to retaining ones sanity through such experiences. In this body lies dormant the potential Self-awareness of the Infinite. Or: In his house at Rlyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming. Happy Buddha Purnima everyone! :)
