Top of £67.50, £63 for Suffolk crosses from Skelfhill, others £60 Broadhaugh; Texel £65 Routin Lynn, £64 Randleholme and East Foreshield, £58 Amos Hill; Cheviot Mule £60.50 Carterton; Greyface £60.50 Craigieburn, £58 High Lovelady Shield, £57.50 Amos Hill; Charollais £59 Carterton; Easycare £48.50 Carterton; Herdwick £45 Kernal Rigg; Swaledale £29 Softley. At the Special Sale of 2,104 Hill Cheviots and 1,287 Blackfaces trade was sharper trade was sharper on the week. Judging was ably carried out by Mr Tony Forster & Son, Weary Hall Style, Mealsgate, Carlisle who both ably carried out their duties. Their awards were as follows:- Hill Cheviots 1st – Langholm Farms, Cooms, Langholm, sold at £60.50. 2nd – Messrs Elliot, Hindhope, Jedburgh, sold at £58. 3rd – Messrs Common, Crossdyke, Corrie, sold at £60.50. North Hill Cheviots 1st – Messrs Hislop, Windyhaugh, Harbottle, sold at £60.50. 2nd – Messrs Cavers, Dod Farm, Hawick, sold at £59. 3rd – Messrs Dunlop, Commonside, Hawick, sold at £58.50, Blackfaces 1st – Craig Bradbury, Satchells, Lilliesleaf, sold at £51. 2nd – Messrs Robson, Townshields, Haydon Bridge, sold at £51. 3rd – Mrs L. Luescher, Sundhope, Liddlesdale, sold at £49.50. Cheviot prices outwith the show £59 Drycleughlea and Glendinning. Blackface prices outwith the show £50 Collinbank and Megdale, £49 Emblehope, £47.50 Clover Hill.
