The Curse of First By Bud Brewski The Thunderbolts will be hosting Mascot Night on Monday, in their game against the Pussies, at the Thunderdome. Mad Cow is set to bring his comic capering and the Thunderbolts are also expected to make a surprise presentation before the game. Last years Mascot Night sparked a riot, as fans of the Pussies dashed onto the field and began giving Rashers a number of punches to the groin, also known as the Crumlin upper cut. Security is expected to be tighter for this years sketch. In other news, the Thunderbolts have lost their 4th first baseman in less the a year. Chopper has been put on the Disabled List for the next four weeks with an ankle injury. The Captain suffered the injury trying to beat out an infield hit in last weeks game versus The Fuzz. The gritty slugger, played on and later hit a home run, which caused extreme pain, as he stomped around base path in agony. Wonder Woman was the first of the jinxed players to get injured as she was barged into by a Titan. Squid then suffered facial injuries shortly after her work restoring The Book of Kells. Commando was the next to fall victim, after a bizarre palm oil injury following a trip to Borneo. Now Chopper is hurt. Trouble is expected to take over at first. Trouble already has her own arm injury, which is causing problems with throwing, so this may actually suit her. Of course one move triggers another. Stroker will probably move to the outfield with Mad Dog returning to short stop. Its a lot for Wild Thing to ponder, and no one ever really knows what the kooky captain will do. Chopper had been having an outstanding season and someone will have to try and replace his bat. Everybody Loves Lutz and Poppa G are both on a hot streak, so expect one of them to be moved into Choppers place in the batting order. The good news is that Commando may be ready to return to action. It will most likely be a game time decision. Unofficial sources claim Wild Thing is considering turning to voodoo to break the curse of first. We shall see. Heres the current disabled list.
