The DC today:The revision allows the Town of Rutherfordton to own infrastructure in Polk County and reflects the new managing partners and new land involved in the project. And why did this Council want the Town to own assets in Poke County? With a 7% increase in sewer rates approved this year, these folks want the citizens to carry the burden of maintaining a sewer system for a risky venture! Not only did Council approve adding staff, whose motive is now apparent, but now these backdoor dealings implies, at least, an ethical inquiry why this reckless decision was made!
