The DL&W company photos are famous as they mostly stayed intact as a collection and are preserved today at Steamtown. We even know the identity of the photographers. This is good fortune. Other railroads in the area also took official company photos. I have seen several Reading Company ones and now there is this small group from the LV which are prints purchased at a local train show. In both the LV case and the RDG I presume many of the large format negs are either hiding in someones collection of more likely thrown away. Just imagine what they might have taken pictures of.... For this switcher they wanted to photograph all four sides so they ran it on and off the turntable to get both sides in the sunshine. Great pictures if you want to model this early paint scheme. For those not familiar the large white area is light gray and the dark is a bright red. Separation stripes are a medium to light yellow with small black pinstripes on either side. Had to be quite striking posed here in the sun.
