And while he maintained a fairly neutral stance, noting clearly that the facts were not all in, he was quickly lashed out against by members of the indie game scene such as Fez developer Phil Fish and others. Fish called TotalBiscuit a “gross nerd” setting the tenor for what snowballed into a much bigger debate. Battle lines were drawn. Silence from the gaming press and apparent censorship at major forums only stoked the flames. The DMCA takedown notice fanned them higher.
