The DOMA Project The DOMA Project founders, immigration attorneys, Noemi Masliah & Lavi Soloway with client and fellow traveler, Anthony Sullivan, on June 28, 2013 as they celebrated the Supreme Court ruling striking down DOMA. Australian-born Anthony Sullivan, and his late husband, Richard Adams, who passed away in December 2012, inspired a movement of binational couples with his pioneering work as a plaintiff in Adams v Howerton, and his steadfast efforts to fight for marriage equality and the rights of binational couples. After marrying in Boulder, Colorado in 1975, Tony and Richard sued the then-INS in federal court for a green card based on their legal marriage. Although they lost that battle, they won the war: they were together for 41 years, and continued to advance the movement for equality and social justice for four decades.
