The DOT said they have equipment but it cant get to where it needs to be because of the gridlock. Having driven in the North during winter, I know their mistake. Up there they have the salt/sand trucks with the snow poughs on from sittin in the median or on the side of the highway every so many miles BEFORE IT STARTS. They dont have them sitting at the yard till it starts and then cant get to where they need to be because by that time, ITS TOO LATE! And I heard they shut down 400 around 1:30 to sand it. Up there the salt/ sand trucks run along and traffic runs right behind them. They dont shut down the highway. Maybe we needs some folks from MI, WI, IL, OH, etc. run the winter readiness operation.
