The DSM adds new personality disorders with every new edition. Some of them make sense, some are just silly. But Robert Reich recently proposed one that really has appeal - EDD, or Empathy Deficit Disorder. We should push for its inclusion in the panoply of mental and emotional disorders. Just imagine how many Republicans would be prohibited from buying guns. Of course, with their new majority, they might make EDD a requirement for buying guns (and holding office).
