The DWP recently consulted interested parties as to whether they wanted to keep the reduced qualifying distance (to qualify for higher rate Personal Independence Payments) of 20 metres from the original 50 metres. Although the vast majority of parties voted to retain the 50 metres allowance, the DWP instead sided with the minority, mainly made up of organisations rather than individuals. This decision doesnt really seem to make sense for the vast majority of people, the people it would directly affect.
