The Dallas East Stake presidency sent the following message promoting this and I thought I would pass it to the rest of the metroplex. BTW, any sisters care to go to a movie with me? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has produced a full length feature documentary titled Meet the Mormons. This film tells the stories of six extraordinary members of the Church. Dallas has been selected as one of the few markets across the country for the limited release. Meet the Mormons is intended to entertain, inform, and enlighten, not to proselyte; it would be a great movie to invite your friends and neighbors to see. The movie will be showing the week of October 10 to October 16, 2014 and ticket proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross. In addition, a strong showing will enhance the possibility that NetFlix and Amazon will pick up the movie up for broad distribution, which would be a very significant step to familiarize a much larger audience with the Church. We have arranged for discounted ticket prices to the theater below. Please feel free to forward this information to fellow members and especially to share on social media. Friday, October 10, 2014 (Date night!) or Monday, October 13, 2014 (FHE) ? AMC Mesquite 30 and Imax, 19919 Lyndon B Johnson FWY, Mesquite TX. The discounted tickets will be available for the show-time closest to 7 pm. Because show times are not released until Wednesday, Oct 8, we will send a follow-up email to inform you of the exact start time for each night. You also can check the AMC website for the start time closest to 7 pm on the indicated nights. The tickets to these shows will be offered at a discounted price of $8 if you RSVP via email to: DallasEastPA@gmail by [Thursday October 9], with the date you plan to attend, understanding that you will not know the exact start time until October 8. In addition, we have obtained vouchers for a small popcorn for $3 for those who request such and respond by the above deadline. The tickets and the vouchers will be available at a designated desk in the theater lobby starting 30 minutes before start time from a member of the Public Affairs Committee. Also note that the popcorn voucher may be used toward purchase of larger sizes. In order to facilitate distribution of tickets, please bring cash to pay for your movie and popcorn tickets/vouchers. Please note that if these specific showings are not possible or convenient for you, we would hope that you would still consider attending one of the other showings during the week of October 10-16 at the theater indicated above or at the Cinemark 17 Theater at 11819 Webb Chapel Road; check local listings.
