The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Tsavo teams together with the Kenya Wildlife Service have been able to save 11 elephants in this area from poisoned arrow wounds in the past two weeks alone. This is CRISIS whatever GOK/KWS say! You all know well my feelings over Satao and how his death triggered the tuskers petition. I am hoping the petition will be delivered soon BTW. Meantime the same is happening all over again... Here another huge tusker nearly killed by poachers. Saved by DSWT and KWS only to be left to fend for himself again. No word that he is being protected. When will Uhuru Kenyatta follow in his fathers footsteps (which he was preaching about doing in other regards) and protect the last 11 tuskers as Ahmed was protected in 1970? If he does not act soon it will be too late. How many of the 11 remaining tuskers are still left in Tsavo? What did Satao mean to Kenya? He too was injured...survived and was then left to fend for himself until they finally got him...will the same happen here...rescued by vets...only to be left again for chance....? Does he have guards now we know he is being hunted? Has anything changed since Sataos death for the last 11 or are we just waiting for the inevitable? This is desperate...Tusker Tusker Day copying/over!
