The Defence Industry Co-operation was established by Nigeria in 1964 to manufacture arms. 50years have gone past, what arms do we manufacture? Very unfortunate that we had to fly over one billion dollars to South Africa to purchase arms to fight Boko Haram. Now, the money has been seized by the South African govt. (politics between Nations). The Nigerian Airways is moribund together with Nigerian National Shipping Line. Everything is corruption. I may vex some persons. But how could a state spend 500million on pilgrimage? In the first place, must the State sponsor peoples faith? Whoever wants to have a jolly jaunt to Jerusalem, Israel or Mecca should do that on his/her own account not that the poor govt will still be sponsoring pilgrimage. Should I call this misplaced priority? Our institutions are awashed with corruption. The way out begs for a deep thought.....
