The Denco Area 9-1-1 District conducted an eight hour Cultural Diversity class for 9-1-1 personnel on Thursday, May 8, 2014. The class is designed to expose Telecommunicators to the wide variety of cultures that may be encountered as they perform their crucial responsibilities of linking citizens with emergency help. Telecommunicators received instruction on techniques to handle 9-1-1 calls from various cultures and to gain both competence and compliance from callers in order to positively impact the public safety response. The class was attended by 9-1-1 personnel from various North Texas public safety agencies. Denco’s Mindy Adams, Specialist, Curriculum Delivery and Development instructed the course.
