The Denver Broncos need to take another step forward today if they are going to win in Kansas City. Although they have road wins against the Jets and the Raiders, the Broncos have not been able to beat a quality opponent on the road yet this year. In the next four games they play the Chiefs, the Chargers, and the Bengals, all on the road. A win tonight, in one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL, would be a big step forward for the Broncos. It will be cold, and Peyton Mannings record is not good in the cold. The Broncos defense needs to stiffen against the run. Missed tackles have plagued them in their last two games against the Rams and Dolphins. Mitch Unrein got some playing time last week. I think Mitch is an upgrade at defensive tackle playing alongside Terrance Knighton. The Broncos new found running game should help slow down KCs pass rush. With all the noise at Arrowhead Stadium the Chiefs pass rushers have a big advantage. The noise will also make it difficult for Peyton to audible in the passing game. Running the ball, and controlling the clock, helps take the crowd out of the game. To defeat cold weather, a hostile crowd, and an opponent who has had ten days to prepare for Denver, will be a big step forward for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. I think they can do it. Do you?
