The Deosai National Park is located in the Skardu District of Gilgit-Baltistan province, in northernmost Pakistan. Deosai means the land of Giants. Deosai National Park is at an average elevation of 4,114 metres (13,497 ft) above the sea level, making the Deosai Plains one of the highest plateaus in the world. WILDLIFE: (Himalayan Ibex, Red Fox, Golden Marmot, Gray Wolf, Ladakh Urial, Snow Leopard) BIRDS: ( Golden Eagle, Lammergeier, Griffon Vulture, Laggar Falcon, Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Snowcock.) there is GOLDEN MARMOT in this picture. The long-tailed marmot or golden marmot (Marmota caudata) is a species of marmot in the Sciuridae family. It is found in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Its natural habitat is temperate grassland.
