The Department of Commerce was pleased this morning to welcome more than 300 guests to the two-day Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) Summit. The Summit is designed to providing designated communities, applicants, potential applicants, and others interested in promoting manufacturing in their communities with a venue to share best practices, work to address regional challenges, and network with one another. The morning kicked-off with a welcome by EDA Assistant Secretary Jay Williams and an overview of the Obama Administration’s manufacturing agenda by Jason Miller, Deputy Director of the National Economic Council and Special Assistant to the President for Manufacturing. Participants also have opportunity during the Summit to visit with all of the IMCP federal partners to help them learn about - and access - their programs, hear about ways to attract foreign direct investment, strengthen their supply chains, explore new investment pathways, and measure their our success, among other vital resources.
