The Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University is inviting applications for 3 ESRC +3 scholarships for September 2014 entry with an application deadline of 1 April 2014 The scholarships available are as follows: a) Open Award (applicants can devise their own project on an area within the ESRC general remit and within supervision expertise of staff in the Department) b) NGOs and the Production of Conflict Knowledge (project supervised by Dr Berit Bliesemann de Guevara – see aber.ac.uk/en/media/departmental/interpol/pdf/postgrad/ESRC-+3-funding-2014-entry-V2.pdf for project outline) c) Memorialising Missing People (project supervised by Professor Jenny Edkins – see aber.ac.uk/en/media/departmental/interpol/pdf/postgrad/ESRC-+3-funding-2014-entry-V2.pdf for project outline) Although scholarships b) and c) are attached to defined projects, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop these according to their own interests (within the broad parameters of the project and with the approval of the supervisor/ESRC). Please note applicants must have already completed ESRC recognised research training prior to taking up the award. Scholarship details · UK award holders will receive tuition fees, maintenance allowance (c. £13,863 per annum – subject to annual review), research/fieldtrip allowance (£750 per annum) · EU award holders will receive tuition fees and a research/fieldtrip allowance (£750 per annum) – unless they have spent at least the last 3 years in the UK in which case they can apply for a full award. · Non-EU students are not eligible to apply.
