The Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University is looking for a Cotton Genomic Research Lab Manager. Position Number: T92712 Position Description: Provides support in the coordination and supervision of programs in the area to which the job is assigned. May supervise subordinate staff, student employees and/or volunteers. Major/Essential Functions: • Oversee the daily operations of the Cotton Genomics Research Greenhouse • Ensure that all that the greenhouse cooling/heating, irrigation; lighting and other systems are working properly • Ensure that applicable local/state/federal standards are being met in all greenhouse operations • Order chemicals, and supplies as needed for horticulture plots • Implement safety and sanitation procedures for greenhouse research facilities Occasional Duties: • Supervise student assistants if available • Other assignments as needed Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one (1) year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years. • This is a Security Sensitive Level I Position: Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check and may be required to be fingerprinted.
