The Department of Social Protection are beginning to roll-out the new Public Services Card to Family Carers living in Waterford. Over the next few weeks Carers in receipt of Carers Allowance or Carers Benefit will receive a letter from the Department inviting them to attend an appointment in their local Social Welfare office so that their photograph and signature can be captured and their Public Services Card issued. The letter will give the date, time and venue for this appointment, however if the times do not suit carers are encouraged to contact the Department to reschedule. The Association wish to reassure carers that there is no need to be concerned about this letter and we encourage you to engage with the process by attending at the appointed time if possible and bringing along the necessary documentation (details will be included in the Departments letter).
