The Detroit Mass Mob organizers are pleased to announce that Archbishop Vigneron had granted permission for Mass to be celebrated at St. Albertus Church in Detroit on Sunday August 10, at 11:00am. St. Albertus was closed as a parish church in 1991. The Archdiocese transferred ownership to the Polish American Historical Site Association, who maintain the church building and former parish campus as a non-profit historical museum honoring Polish heritage and culture. Mass and other religious ceremonies may only be celebrated there with the permission of the Archbishop of Detroit. The presider for our Mass at St. Albertus will be Fr. Eduardo Montemayor, Associate Director of Evangelization and Hispanic Ministry for the Archdiocese of Detroit. Following Mass, you are welcome to join the annual Pierogi Festival to be held at Sweetest Heart of Mary Parish, just two blocks away from St. Albertus.
