The #Difference Between #Love and #Marriage” A story is told of how a young man in an attempt to appreciate life more, asked his elderly father, “What is love?” The father said, “in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and bring it back home. But the rule is: you can go through the field in search of the biggest wheat only once and cannot turn back. ”The young man went to the field, he went through the first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wondered to himself that he may be lucky to get something bigger ahead. Then he saw another bigger one but still felt they may be an even bigger one waiting for him ahead. Towards the end of his search, when he had gone pass half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat ahead is not as big as the previous ones he saw, he knew at that point that he had missed the biggest ones, then he regretted and yet, there was no going back. So, he ended up going back to the father empty handed. The father told him, “That is love” People keep looking for a better person, all just to realize that they had missed out on the truest and kindest of hearts. On the other hand, in an attempt to buttress what marriage is, the father asked the young man to go into the corn field and choose the biggest corn and bring back home. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick anyone you have passed. ”The son went to the corn field, this time he was careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he got to the middle of the field, he had picked one sizable corn that he felt satisfied, and came back to his father with pride. His father told him, “This time you brought back a corn. You looked for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you have got. Cherish it and be content with it. Most of us out there are still searching for life partners hoping for someone better at the expense of the great people around us. The risk is that at the end of the race, we may come out empty handed. My prayer for us is “May the good Lord help us to recognize right partner when we see one in Jesus name”
