The Dillon Herald’s annual toy and food drive is underway, and once again, we are requesting help to give some of Dillon County’s less fortunate families a happy Christmas. Our partner, East Dillon Baptist Church, is responsible for distributing the items. Last year, more than 175 children and 60 families benefited from the drive, and once again, there are many people who need our help. On Black Friday, many of you will be heading out to stores in search of great deals and to work on your holiday shopping. Please take the time to pick up an extra toy or a non-perishable food item for the drive. It may cost you a few extra dollars, but it will help make the holiday bright for a deserving child or family. The drive is only as successful as we all make it by our participation. Do what you can – that’s all anyone can ask. The deadline to turn in items is 12 noon on Friday, December 12th at our office located at 505 Highway 301 North, Dillon. Give back this holiday season.
