The Disney channel has had Aladdin on twice today and Lucy has wanted to watch it both times. Meanwhile Michael and I are both trying to not break down sobbing. I have some awesome memories from childhood, Friday nights staying up what I thought was super late to watch movies like Aladdin and Hook with my dad. And now as a mom I totally understand why my mom would fall asleep on the couch :) this week I have seen many Facebook friends trying to add to the discussion on suicide and depression but instead simply turning it into arguments that distract and divide. Be more mature everyone. Nobody is saying depression is no big deal or to just suck it up. Be kind when you disagree. The very topic of suicide should evoke a reminder that you never know what someone is going through when they read your comments. And no...not every conservative is right on this matter and neither is every liberal. This should not be a topic that creates a partisan feud. It is a human condition that we should all have compassion for, whether you feel educated enough to declare yourself an expert on the exact precise cause or not.
