The Dodo was a flightless bird , and it used gizzard stones that helped it digest food. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was a top fierce predator and had razor sharp claws. These are a few animals of the bygone era who have become extinct. In the contemporary times there are many animals like the Siberian Tiger, Blue Whale, Sumatran orangutan, Bengal tiger ,Black Rhinoceros , Hyacinth Macaw to name a few whose numbers are rapidly declining , due to the destruction of their habitat and hunting by man. These animals in the red list are endangered animals who could become extinct, if they are not protected for. The topic chosen for the ISA activity on Extinct and endangered animals by the students of class IV and V is highly relevant and a wake up call for mankind to act on.
