The Donnie Darko thread got me riled up about late 90s movies so here is one I re-watched last week that I hold very close to my heart: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blair_Witch_Project Its been twenty years since those 3 students disappeared in Burkittsville, and whether you liked the movie or not it cant be denied how huge of a cultural impact it had. Chances are you knew someone, or a few people who thought it was 100% real and would not shut up about it. It wasnt the first film of its genre but I would say its hard to argue this movie wasnt responsible for kickstarting the whole Found Footage style. Found Footage today is a minefield of bad movies with a handful of gems due to the ability to shoot them on a shoestring budget with incredibly low production value. As a huge horror fan its a genre I feel really strongly about even though I know how incredibly divisive it can be. Halloween may have already passed but its never too late to discuss spooky witches imo.
