The Drop Movie Review: 8/10 Engaging with its characters, engrossing with its drama and overall emotionally rewarding this movie is an absolutely great piece of work that completely pulls you into its world and for better or worse makes you feel a part of it. The best thing about this movie is all of its wonderful performances which include Tom Hardy continuing to demonstrate his limitless dramatic range with subtle but strong emotional power, Noomi Rapace giving off a nicely welcomed touching charm and James Gandolfini showing his brilliant talent that is always a joy to watch in a strong final role. As well the movie has a perfectly honest sensibility to it that not only gives everything great believability but also fills many scenes with entertaining humor and also thrilling tension without feeling awkward or out of place. There is not a sour note to be found in this simple yet potent story that makes this a movie that is a constant source of entertaining enjoyment that is quiet in tone but powerful in weight.
