The EU has filed a trade complaint with the World Trade - TopicsExpress

The EU has filed a trade complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over Chinese antidumping duties on imports of high-performance stainless steel seamless tubes from the EU. The European Commission noted that Japan had already started a dispute settlement proceeding against tariffs applied to Japanese imports of the same product. The EU and China will now have 60 days to find a negotiated solution. If negotiations fail, after 60 days the EU can ask the WTO to establish a panel to rule on the case. Earlier this week, Reuters reported that the complaint would send a signal to the Chinese government that the EU will not put up with Chinese retaliation. This refers to the fact that in early June, the European Commission imposed provisional antidumping duties on wafers, solar cells and modules imported from China. China promptly responded to the imposition of antidumping duties by launching inquiries into imports of European luxury goods, including wine.
