The EX Space Siren Joyfully dark and taste like tulips with Tabasco From the flower fields of Holland hail Gwendolien (vocals, guitar), Ineke (drums), Corno (guitar) and Aico (bass) a.k.a. Space Siren, the most exciting band in the current flowering underground scene in The Netherlands. They fill rooms, venues and basements with sound that crawls into all corners and starts shaking the walls on the pounding swinging beats while in the meantime all people inside get hushed by the starry-eyed vocals. The searing noise and expressive rhythm section work outs are a counter-point to their dreamy melody lines, the swirling guitars do share their place in the songs with marvellous staccato bursts of agro-industrial noise. Great stuff. We know Space Siren since long and we do not only visit Cornos fantastic analogue Next To Jaap studio in the old bulb-shed of his dads flower farm because he is now also using it to brew all kinds of very tasty beers. Actually we just mastered our new The Ex 7 single with Corno in that studio and want to record there some songs too in the near future. Zea (Arnold) has been on tour with Space Siren quite a bit but February 28 will be the first time The Ex will share the stage with them. We look forward to it!
