The Early Bird Gets the Worm The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Search for your Rizq (sustenance) in the morning because the morning is a time of blessing and success.” [Majma uz Zawa’id] “Rizq” is a comprehensive word which includes spiritual progress, physical well-being, livelihood and wealth, family and household, knowledge and intellect. Whenever the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) sent out troops or an army, he would send them at the beginning of the day. Any work done after the time for Fajr begins is guaranteed to have Barakah, greater ease and hope of success. This time can be used for recitation, memorization, Dhikr or other work. Many Ulema even disliked talking at this time unless it were something urgent.
