The Early Years Anthology - 2007 11th April 2007 Interdictum Look through the history books of Humankind, Gaze upon the rich tapestry of each page of these books, Humankind has achieved so much in its short time on Earth, Each page of our history is rich in the good and bad of our nature, What if tomorrow, Humankind perished from the face of this Earth, Simply vanished, each of us ceased to exist? As it we had never existed again, as a species or individually. But our creations, monuments, inventions and buildings still stood, Resolutely standing the test of time and a beacon of a once alive species. Imagine an Earth forever quiet of Human voices, Imagine your home forever empty of your presence, Close your eyes and look through the eyes of a flying bird, Now lord of the skies once again. Hear the wind sore and interweave beneath and over the strong wings, Look down with the eyes of a dove or an eagle, Onto deserted cities of metal and concrete, reminders of a lost civilization. And if indeed Humanity does perish from the face of Earth, Life in some type will carry on, in type and form, Evolution shall take its course as it always has, For evolution has been a creation of God, a tool of his, His presence can be seen in the ever evolving dynamics of life. Intercept this gene, change just a bit from this gene, Add a bit from this DNA to another, and watch, Watch and see the timeless dance begin a many times, Over and over. Interception of life. Interception between God’s hand. Interception of a ending transforming to a new beginning. Petars Commentary: A poem about Death. Pure and simple. It is also a successor to my 2007 2 part poem series called Ode.
