The Easy Yoke Jesus invited those under the burden of the law to come to Him and learn of Him. He said His yoke was easy and His burden light. When Peter was defending bringing the gospel to the Gentiles to the Jews at Jerusalem, he commented . . . and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? The yoke of religion is heavy. When we are manipulated from the pulpit to serve God out of fear of punishment we are subtly being brought back into the yoke of religion. The yoke that Jesus beckons us to is a call to do the Fathers will in the Fathers grace. If we are the sons and daughters of God it is in our hearts to desire to do His will. As we learn day by day to come with confidence to the throne of grace, we receive His strength (grace) to face life without the heavy weight of striving to be good enough to please God. Paul says we are highly favored in the Beloved One. Cast the care of your spiritual life and growth over on Him. He care for you.
