The Education Ministrys flip flops and inconsistencies will ensure Malaysias education will never be among the best in the world. Forget about Program Susu 1Malaysia. Forget about 1.3million students entering the Malaysian Book of Records for drinking milk. Millions of students drinking milking concurrently would not ensure students become smart. Your inability to be consistent on the language used for science and math (PPSMI) is killing the students. Your flip flop decision from Malay to English back to Malay for political mileage will ensure school students are being used as political chips. Your inability to firmly decide coupled with the dramatic u-turns is hurting and worrying many secondary school students. Your inability to ensure the secrecy of UPSR papers has disappointed students as young as 12 years old. And all these while, I thought there were back up sets in case there really is a leak. And now, youre denying a practise that has been embraced for the past 30 years: using SPM forecast results to enter pre-U. You argue that strictly speaking, the law only allows SPM results to be used for admission, hence trial results have been illegal all these while. But Dear Ministry of Education, if there has not been dire consequences for the past 30 years, it is time to change the directive or law. Laws are man made according to the need of society. Directives can be made on the instruction of the Ministry. How hard is it? One month away from SPM, and this is how you decide to screw students who intend to pursue their next course of education in a private institute? At the end of the day, who have you screwed up? UPSR students through UPSR, secondary school students through PPSMI and soon-to-be-Pre-Uni students through the validity of SPM trial results.
