The Eighth Commandment Givers Not Takers Exodus 20:15 Christ was the living embodiment of the Law—He lived love. His life was a call to action, a call to do something—a call to love. We should strive to emulate His perfect example. When Jesus summed up the Ten Commandments, He said, “Do this: Love God and love others.” In our personal walk with God, we’ve come to view the Ten Commandments as a call to action—a call to love. With that mindset, let’s take a look at the eighth commandment: “Thou shalt not steal” Exodus 20:15 (KJV). God’s call to action: Give freely of your time, your resources, your talents, for when you give you will be blessed. Try it! Give to those in need, including those whose greatest need is simply knowing they’re loved. Give abundantly in grateful response to the gift of salvation I’ve given to you.
