The El Paso VA Health Care System will be open for patient appointments beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, following the closure earlier this week after the fatal shooting of a doctor. Employees should report for work at their regularly scheduled times. Increased security measures will be implemented at the main facility and Community Based Outpatient Clinics in East El Paso and Las Cruces. VA Police will conduct 100 percent identification check. Bags and parcels will be randomly checked. This procedure will be in place until further notice.
