The Election Commission of India told the Supreme Court in 2009 - TopicsExpress

The Election Commission of India told the Supreme Court in 2009 that it wished to offer the voter a None Of The Above (NOTA) button on voting machines; the government, however, has generally opposed this option. A PIL (Public Interest Litigation) was filed for NOTA. On 27 Sept 2013, the Supreme Court of India passed judgement on the PIL, directing the Election Commission to provide a button on voting machines, giving the Citizens of India the Right to reject all candidates in elections.
