The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Presidential election results centre has been officially launched at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. The ECZ results centre will be used by the commission to announce Presidential results received from various districts across the country. The launch was attended by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) country representative, Ms. Janet Rogan, local and foreign election monitors and members of participating political parties. ECZ Chairperson Justice, Irene Mambilima said the launch of the centre is an important milestone in the preparations for this year’s Presidential election. And Justice Mambilima said the commission is ready to conduct a free and fair Presidential election. She stated that the Commission is also ready to receive the results of the polls which are expected to be received and announced expeditiously in line with the stakeholders’ expectations.
