The Elite S.E.A.L team 6 made an attempt to rescue free lance photo journalist Luke Somers in Yemen today. Reports are they landed 6 miles from Al Qaeda home/place where he was held with another hostage, they got within a 100 yds and were spotted by a guard launching a fierce 10 min gun battle. None of the team were killed, Al Qaeda lost most of their men. Unfortunately during the battle, Al Qaeda killed Somers along with another hostage before the S.E.A.Ls could get to them. Al Qaeda were set on executing them tomorrow in their barbarous methods. Glad to know that there was an effort to save our hostages, but unfortunately their lives were still taken. These are some well conditioned and disciplined men to go 7 miles with heavy gear and still manage to fight well, despite the tragic ending to their target.
