The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is an internationally recognized leader in the fight against pediatric HIV. EGPAF has been working to eliminate pediatric HIV infection through research, advocacy, capacity building, and the delivery of comprehensive HIV services to women, children, and their families. Working in 16 countries worldwide, we support a family-centered approach to provide integrated and comprehensive prevention, care and treatment services for those living with HIV and AIDS as well as the provision of effective services to prevent transmission of HIV from mothers to children (PMTCT). EGPAF works closely with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other partners through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The foundation seeks to recruit vibrant and self driven individuals to fill up the following positions; Position 4 : ABSTRACTORS (8) Position Summary: Reporting to the Team Facilitator (who reports to the Coordinator), the Data Abstractor shall be responsible for extracting: reviewing of medical record documentation and entering the project information into the systems database. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for data extraction by sampling and reviewing health information records of patients files from the database and clinical registers Perform accurate and timely abstraction and data entry using appropriate tools and processes Meet quality standards and defined deadlines Coordinate effort with team members and others Education and Required Experience: BA Degree in Social Sciences or related field, Development Studies or relevant discipline from a recognized reputable university Experience in clinical medicine or be district or national records officers Experience in surveys or chart abstraction Experience in data collection and analysis Having worked with MOH ART registers and forms (data associates, demographic students, HCW with SmartCare training) is an added advantage Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in word processing, database, Excel, Epi, Info, Stata and MS Access Experience in data collection and analysis Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs and their implementation Must be of high integrity, assertive with excellent communication skills, a team player, ability to perform under pressure, results oriented with excellent analytical skills, Initiative, and commitment to personal growth and good knowledge and ability to work with minimum supervision How to apply If you are interested in applying for the above position and meet the eligibility criteria, please submit a cover letter, your current CV, photocopies of professional certificates, degrees and the contact information of three professional references to the EGPAF Office at: Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation P.O Box 39111, Plot No.35374 Reliance House, Thabo Mbeki Road Lusaka-Zambia Attn: Country Director, SUBJ: (insert job title).
