The Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership is currently out performing saturation patrols for impaired drivers. We have been out since around noon and will be out until early morning hours tonight and tomorrow. We have already made two arrests for DUI one on CR 13 north of CR 45 where the male suspect was found to be .295 BAC, three times state evidence of intoxication. He was stopped around 3 PM near where children were being let off of a bus from school. The other was found near CR 13 an CR 18 around 6PM and was found to have a BAC of .10. Both are currently incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail. We will have more officers coming on duty specifically looking for impaired drivers in the next hour. We hope that people make the right choice and get a designated driver.
