The Elma and Montesano High School fastpitch teams each earned a place in the state 1A tournament on Wednesday. Elmas bats were on fire with 3 home runs as the Eagles beat Hoquiam 8-2. Montesano got some late heroics from Allysa Gustafson. The freshman hit a 2-run walk off home run to lift the Bulldogs over Woodland 4-3. Elma and Monte will now play for the district 4 championship at 3 pm on Saturday at Fort Borst Park in Centralia.
