The Elmhurst Police Explorers are announcing an Open House to accept new members on Monday, October 7, 2013. Elmhurst Police Explorers is a youth program for boys and girls, ages 14 through 22, who would like to learn and participate in law enforcement and criminal justice careers. Members of the Elmhurst Police Explorer Post 66 meet weekly for presentations and training topics at the police department and assist the City of Elmhurst with operations at events such as the Turkey Trot, St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Elmhurst Jaycee’s Carnival. Besides community service opportunities, Explorers also learn great life skills such as First Aid, CPR, Military Drill, as well as good citizenship. The members also take an active leadership role in the post, which helps them build confidence and learn responsibility while leading their peers. If you are interested in joining the Elmhurst Police Explorers Post 66, please attend the Open House Meeting for new members on October 7, 2013, at 7:00 PM at the Elmhurst Police Department training room. This is a great opportunity to meet current members, learn about our program and become a member yourself! More information can be found at their website: ElmhurstPoliceExplorers
