The Emirates American Football League is proud to announce that Stan Gay has been selected as the new Commissioner for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, continuing the legacy of EAFL founding member and first Commissioner, Kai Trompeter. Stan Gay is a graduate of the University of Alabama. As a defensive back for the Crimson Tide, Stan played football for the legendary Coach, Paul “Bear” Bryant. He earned a scholarship from Coach Bryant as a walk-on and he later went on to become a three-year Letterman and two year starter for the ‘Tide’. Stan also played on an SEC Championship team. After college, he had a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons during the 1984-1985 seasons. In an interview yesterday, the new Commissioner outlined his key areas of focus which included player safety, continuing development for coaches and officials, and delivering an authentic American football experience to the players and fans.
