The Established Heart Psalm 112:5-8 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. An established heart is not tossed to and fro by every wind or doctrine. It is not moved by the winds of adversity. Faith motivates the established heart rather than fear. The established heart endures tests and trials calmly knowing that these light afflictions are but for a moment. It doesn’t fling its confidence, but knows that being a doer of the Word brings results (Hebrews 10:35-36) The established heart will attract the blessings of God because faith pleases God. The obedience of one with an established heart causes them to eat the good of the land. His or her family will be blessed because the established heart trusts in God. When our heart is established in God as our source, we can give generously without fear of lack. The financial difficulties of the economy do not move the established heart because it is grounded in the Word. The established heart realizes salvation is by grace through faith and not works. Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you for being my Lord, my source, my strength, my peace, my joy, my hope and my righteousness. Verse of the Day: Heb 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
