The Ethiopian Holocaust and war crimes committed by fascist Italy - TopicsExpress

The Ethiopian Holocaust and war crimes committed by fascist Italy was one of the worst and atrocious crimes of the modern era. It all started before WWII under the tacit approval of the British and other world powers. The Italian fascists used poison gas for the first time in the history of mankind. The lives of our people were considered disposable pawns in the appeasement of Hitler and Mussolini by the so called free world powers. But their gambit failed and Hitler attacked and killed millions. It is a travesty that this history of cruelty is yet to be recognized as an example of the excesses and cruelties of war and genocide. Unfortunately it is only the travesties committed against whites that merit condemnation and memorialization. But we Ethiopians will forgive but never ever forget this terrible deed of the Italians on our people who were living peacefully in their own country and meant them no harm. I occasionally here some well meaning Ethiopians toy with the idea of how much civilized we would have been had we not hastily beat the Italians away. But their intent was no different than HITLER had for the Jews in finding a final solution. Had they stayed longer they had plans of extermination of our people and populating our country with Italians. My friends these are gruesome pictures but those heads of our brothers and sisters that the Italian soldiers were smiling at and even playing soccer with died on our behalf. We can not blame the new generation of Italians for the misdeeds of Mussolinis army and we have given them ample proof that we have already forgiven these atrocities, but we should forever enshrine in our hearts those that suffered and died on our behalf so that we can live in the free and independent nation our ancestors have been handing down the generations. (the pictures are from the new book, Prevail, I posted earlier)
