The European Union announces the start of the European Week Festival 2014 Dushanbe, 14 October 2014 – The European Week, initiated by the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, has become an integral part of the local cultural life. This annual event promotes the convergence of the European Union and Tajikistan, presents different cultures and traditions of Europe to the Tajik public and induces cultural bridges between people. The European Week is an important vector to enhance the awareness of the current relations between the European Union and the Republic of Tajikistan. Indeed, it explains in more details the role of the EU in Tajikistan and the EU integration process in the Tajik society. The European Week will be held from October 25th to November the 2nd, 2014 in Dushanbe and in Varzob. The program of the Euroweek includes several activities organized by Bactria Cultural Center and its partners, representing the diversity of European cultures and bringing together the peoples of Tajikistan and the European Union. The partners are the International Debate Education Association (IDEA), the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO), the Embassy of France in Tajikistan, the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan and Beeline. The European Film Festival is organized with the support of: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Goethe Institute, the Cooperation and Development Italian organization (CESVI), the Hungarian Embassy, the Embassy of Spain and the Embassy of Finland in Astana. Ayni Sunday, October 26th at 17:00p.m. Photo exhibition «Perspectives of Dushanbe», International photographic encounter Bactria Cultural Center Wednesday, October 29th at 11:00 a.m. Press conference, movie screening, exhibition of handicrafts by students and traditional concert by local artists Varzob From 27th to 31st of October at 18.00p.m., every day European Film festival Featured movies: Finish documentary (opening presentation on the 27th), Hungarian, Spanish, Italian and German fiction movies Bactria Cultural Center Saturday, November 1st - 14:00p.m.: Ethno-jazz concert performed by young Tajik bands (Continuation of the Dushanbe Ethno-Jazz Festival 2014) - 17:00p.m.: Dance performance Fusion dance show by the Padida theatre, the choreographic college after the name of M.
