The Evo-Stik League has today released the highly anticipated fixtures for the Moors first foray back into the Northern Premier league for some 10 years. We will open the season with a trip to Padiham in Lancashire on Saturday 16th August followed by an early meeting with local rivals Darlington 1883 at the Brewery Field on the following Tuesday for the first home game of the campaign. August Bank Holiday Monday sees us on the road again, away to Ossett Albion with the Yorkshire club making the trip to Spennymoor on New Year’s Day. Other key dates see us on the road again on Boxing Day at Harrogate RA with the reverse fixture at the Brewery Field on Easter Monday. Manager Jason Ainsley said this morning ‘Waiting for the fixtures to come out has been very exciting and certainly worth the wait. After viewing them it starts to hit home what a very difficult league this is going to be with some outstanding and well established clubs, but also one that we should look forward to and relish rather than be fearful. To start with an away fixture at Padiham, a ground I have never been too is what we have all looked forward to since the chairman took over the club, it will bring that sense of the unknown and an opportunity to test ourselves against very good opposition. Our first home fixture against Darlington 1883 is going to be a night to remember with a massive crowd hopefully turning up to the brewery field like the last time we played them and watching two top teams battle it out so early in the season. To have been very fortunate to have played for and managed Spennymoor it will give me enormous pride leading the team out on August 16th after 10 years waiting for it to happen and one I hope the supporters will travel in numbers to watch an historic occasion as they deserve this as much as anybody.’ Steve Lawson, Operations Director went on to add ‘When the fixtures are released it is always a great feeling for the supporters to see who and when we have certain teams, some look for the derbies, some look for teams and places they enjoying travelling to or facing at home. The club is making great strides and through the summer we have been concentrating on developing areas which we feel need enhancing further and with only four weeks or so to prepare for the Darlington game doesn’t give us much time to put everything in place so it’s going to be a busy period for us. We will be having a meeting this weekend to discuss the requirements for the game and come up with an action plan to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.’ The full list of fixtures are as follows SPENNYMOOR TOWN EVO-STIK LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION NORTH FIXTURES 2014/15 Saturday 16th August Padiham A Tuesday 19th August Darlington 1883 H Saturday 23rd August Prescot Cables H Monday 25th August Ossett Albion A Saturday 30th August Tadcaster Albion or Barnoldswick Town A (FA Cup Preliminary Round) Saturday 6th September Salford City H Tuesday 9th September Brighouse Town A Saturday 13th September Bishop Auck or Sunderland RCA or Jarrow Roofing or Eccleshill Utd A (FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round) Saturday 20th September Warrington Town A Tuesday 23rd September Ossett Albion H Saturday 27th September New Mills H or (FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round) Tuesday 30th September Farsley FC A Saturday 4th October Northwich Victoria A Tuesday 7th October Scarborough Athletic H Saturday 11th October Burscough H or (FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round) Tuesday 14th October Lancaster City A Saturday 18th October Harrogate RA A (FA Trophy Preliminary Round) Saturday 25th October Prescot Cables A or (FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round) Tuesday 28th October Brighouse Town H Saturday 1st November Lancaster City or Bamber Bridge H (FA Trophy 1st Qualifying Round) Wednesday 5th November Darlington 1883 A Saturday 8th November Bamber Bridge H or (FA Cup 1st Round Proper) Saturday 15th November Clitheroe A or (FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round) Saturday 22nd November Droylsden H Saturday 29th November Radcliffe Borough H or (FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round) Saturday 6th December Mossley A Saturday 13th December Kendal Town H or (FA Trophy 1st Round Proper) Saturday 20th December Ossett Albion A Friday 26th December Harrogate RA A Thursday 1st January Ossett Town H Saturday 3rd January Scarborough Athletic A Saturday 10th January Northwich Victoria H Saturday 17th January Burscough A Saturday 24th January Lancaster City H Saturday 31st January Warrington Town H Saturday 07th February New Mills A Saturday 14th February Farsley FC H Saturday 21st February Saturday 28th February Kendall Town A Saturday 7th March Droylsden A Saturday 14th March Clitheroe H Saturday 28th March Padiham H Saturday 4th April Salford City A Monday 6th April Harrogate RA H Saturday 11th April Bamber Bridge A Saturday 18th April Radcliffe Borough A Saturday 25th April Mossley H
